Based on Alloy Entertainment’s book series comes a TV series of a group of privileged teenagers in Manhattan’s Upper East Side in New York City. Gossip Girl, a CW TV series created by The OC creator Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. The series is narrated by an unseen omniscient blogger named “Gossip Girl” voiced by Kirsten Bell. She knows everything that is happening in the elite circle. The series premiered September 19, 2007

The story starts with Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) being the Queen Bee of the prestigious Constance Billard School when her ex-bestfriend Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) comes back from boarding school. Blair’s ever so perfect life in the elite social scene tumbles because she knew that Serena, the “It” girl will ruin her reputation.

The story also follows the bad boy of the Upper East Side, Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), the “Golden Boy” Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) Chuck’s bestfriend, Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) Serena’s off-again and on-again ex-boyfriend, Vanessa Abrams (Jessica Szhor) Dan’s bestfriend and Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen) Dan’s sister.

The TV series won numerous Teen Choice Awards from 2008 to 2011 because its target audience ages 18-49 and now making one of the most highest ranked TV series for young adults. However, now on its fifth season, Gossip Girl has lost top rank over Supernatural and the so-called famous zipcode, 90210. Critics say that if the ratings go lower and the plot will not get juicier as it was before, the series might near the end. The fifth season will start to air in late 2011.
